From Loose Ring to Part Number
A loose retaining ring is genuinely hard to identify. Its free diameter differs from the shaft size it fits, callipers flex it as you measure, and the standards ladder is dense with near-identical sizes. Olypsys measures it without touching it, then names it.

Near Sizes, Told Apart
A 28 mm and a 29 mm external circlip differ by less than a millimetre of free diameter. Olypsys measures repeatably to a few hundredths of a millimetre, then shows the best match alongside ranked alternatives drawn with real geometry, so you can see why the winner won.
Close sizes are ranked with match scores, so near-neighbours are never mistaken for each other.

External (shaft) and internal (bore) circlips, heavy-duty rings, E-clips, and round-wire snap rings are detected and classified automatically.
Standards Built In
Identification against the DIN 471, 472, 983/984, DIN 6799 and JIS B 2804 E-ring tables, plus round-wire snap rings to DIN 9925/9926 — including the withdrawn DIN 7993 sizes still found on older machinery. The fitting shaft or bore diameter is reported.
Real Dimensions
Free diameter (DIN d3), gap opening, and band width are measured from the photo rather than copied from a catalogue entry.
Non-Contact
Nothing squeezes or springs the ring during measurement, so the reading reflects the part as it actually is. Readings repeat to within 0.05 mm.
True-Geometry Diagrams
Matched parts are drawn with their true stamped geometry — tapered section, lugs, and pilot holes where they really are — beside the measured outline, with DXF download and an interactive 3D view.
